Tower of Goo Unlimited [Wii – Concept]

immagine

Tower of Goo Unlimited is the original prototype, made some years ago, of World of Goo, a famous indie game for Pc and Wiiware. Even if you can create only a tower in this concept, the basic gameplay and the graphic style are essentially the same as the released version. There is a level called “Tower of Goo” in the final game, but it is much more  technically refined.

2dboy has a prototype section about the development of World of Goo.

Jazz Jackrabbit 3D [PC – Cancelled]

Jazz Jackrabbit 3 (alternatively called Jazz Jackrabbit 3D or simply Jazz3D) is the unreleased third installment of the popular PC game series, Jazz Jackrabbit. Spear-headed by Dean “Noogy” Dodrill (an animator for Jazz Jackrabbit 2) and coded by World Tree Games, it was developed for the original Unreal Engine technology in 1999. Like many other mascot characters of the late 90s, Jazz would venture into the realm of 3D for the first time.

Despite interest to develop the game, it never was released after Epic MegaGames failed to find a publisher, and it was canceled sometime in May 2000. Since then, the original proof-of-concept alpha has been leaked on to the internet. [Infos from Wikipedia]

Castle! Castle! [GameCube / PC – Cancelled]

Castle! Castle! is a prototype for a cancelled game in development for PC and Gamecube at F4 (formerly known as F4-Toys),  a French video game developer based in Paris composed of former staffers from Adeline Team and No Cliche, including Frederick Raynal. It seems that it was going to be a real-time strategy game / tower defense, where the players would have had to build and protect their castles, but sadly the project was cancelled. This could have been an evolution of another F4 proto, know as Pocket Castle.
