Galidor [PS2, GameCube, PC – Beta]

Galidor: Defenders of the Outer Dimension, also known simply as Galidor, is a show that ran on Fox Kids in 2002 with a total of 26 half-hour episodes. The show is centered around the journey of Nicholas Bluetooth, a 15 year old whose life is turned upside-down after receiving a strange floating alien map over his bed on the eve of his 15th birthday. In 2003 Asylum Entertainment developed and released (published by Electronic Arts for PC (and GBA) only) a platform / action game game based on the Galidor show. The early version of the main character was different from the one that was later used in the final game and even the hud was changed.

Whilst the PC and GBA versions were released, the PS2 version, as well as a GameCube release were cancelled, which was unfortunately due to financial problems.

Snake Plissken Chronicles [PS2/XBOX – Cancelled]

Snake Plissken Chronicles (also know as Snake Plissken’s Escape), is a cancelled action game that was in development at Namco Hometek in 2003, for the original Xbox and Playstation 2. The game was based on Snake Plissken, the protagonist (portrayed by Kurt Russell) in John Carpenter’s films Escape from L.A. and Escape from New York. A playable demo was created, but the project was never finished for unknown reasons.

This video shows a functional SNAKE PLISSKEN game built in 2004 by the remaining Dead to Rights 2 staff. Campaign design was complete, storyline was approved by Carpenter, Russell, and Hill, and concept was well underway. The game would have included full particpation by all three, including a completed cyber-scanned version of Kurt. This game was going to rock. Video produced and edited by Mike Kennedy. Music by KMFDM and John Carpenter, remixed by DJSkavenger.

Gunslinger [PS2 – Cancelled]

Gunslinger is an unreleased action adventure set in the old west, that was in development by Surreal Software in 2001 / 2002 for the Playstation 2.  Initially the game was going to be published by Activision, but it was later purchased by Sony probably because they felt the potential of the project, but in the end it was cancelled, because of marketing reasons (as it was seen as not enough profitable to release). The gameplay would have been similar to Red Dead Revolver (by Rockstar Games) and Gun (by Neversoft), with an open ended world, lots of gun fights, horseback exploration and much more. With a “morality system”, similar to the one seen in Black & White or Fable, the player would have been able to earn a reputation based on his good or evil decisions through the game. A playable build of the game was shown at E3 2000, so maybe we’ll be able to play it sooner or later if someone could preserve the demo and share it with the community.

Killzone 2 [PS3 – Beta]

Killzone 2 is a FPS for the PlayStation 3, developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. As we can see in a very early Killzone 2 multiplayer video from 2006 , the beta version had tons of changes from the final game. Some of the changes include very early maps with differed layouts and themes.

The m80 has a red dot sight and a grenade launcher, the Helghan weapons have white muzzle flashes as in the first game. The way you see your gun in your hands is different and the graphics are nowhere near as polished. It appears that classes haven’t been implemented into the game yet and both sides only have 1 character model. Probaly the biggest and most noticeable difference is that there are drivable vehicles, which are not available in the final games multiplayer.
