Well, I have a new level showing off random beta stuff, it needs some polishing, but it will be here in no time!
I think my last two were better, but this has nicer quality at least! You can check the other videos and screens from the “Beta Mario World Project” in here & here, or you can join the discussion about the project in the U64 forum in here.
The Unseen 64 Staff is happy to welcome 3 new geeks in our beta-family: soon you should be able to see some unseen-stuff from FullMetalMC (a long-time contributor), CoinCollector & Denten! The U64 crew is already quite large, but as you know, there are so many things to do to preserve the cuts and changes in the gaming development, so every endeavor help is welcome :) And now, back to work!
After completing one of the launch titles for the N64 in 1996, Pilotwings (the other being Super Mario 64), Paradigm was tasked with creating three new games: Pilotwings 2, a “racing” game (Which later became Beetle Adventure Racing!) and a more serious flight simulator, which was to be called “Flights of the U.N.” This title was later changed to Harrier 2000, and again to Harrier 2001 probably due to delays. The game was supposed to be released in 1999, but when it was delayed they “updated” the title to go along with the new release date. Read the rest of this entry »
This Halo 3 beta features near, if not actual, retail maps. The difference between this and the final are of course, the fact that its slightly earlier then the final, and the fact that the Campaign mode is not available. I’ve gone ahead and posted a HD Video over on Past to Present, so until next time, keep seeing the unseen.
In the YouTube channel of dudaw12 we can see a video of Mario 64 “hacked”, where there are some little Chill Bullies that are not used in the final game.
As hes say in the description of the video “Using Toad’s Tool 64 by VL-Tone, I added the model ID of mini Chilly Bullies in Super Mario 64. Perhaps they were beta elements? Or maybe just a scaled model left in the game? I don’t know.” If you dont remember who Chill Bully is, here’s a description from Mariowiki:
“Chill Bully is a Big Bully found in Super Mario 64. It has a blue surface and a single golden spike on the top of its head (as opposed to the usual black surface and twin horns of normal Bullies). Chill Bully appeared in Course 10: Snowman’s Land. In this level, Chill Bully walked around on an ice platform above a pool of extremely cold water.” In M64 Chill Bully is just one big boss, but these little ones could have been “ordinary” harder enemies for the same level or maybe from a removed one?
