Offensive (Ocean) [Playstation, Saturn – Cancelled?]

Offensive is a strategy war game that was in development by Ocean Software for the original Playstation and Saturn. It seems that the project was never finished, as it does not appear in any release list of titles published by Ocean, but maybe it could have been released with a different title on a different console or PC. Sadly we dont have any more info about Offensive and only few  screenshots were found in Electronic Gaming Monthly issue #86 and in PlayerOne Magazine issue #62.

Trigun: The Planet Gunsmoke [PS2 – Cancelled]

Trigun: The Planet Gunsmoke is a cancelled action game / third person shooter based on the manga / anime with the same name, that was in development by Red Entertainment for the Playstation 2.  The project was unveiled in 2002 in Sega’s 2002 GameJam video. The unveiling consisted of a 20 second clip from the game, with multiple characters from the Trigun series. Since its unveiling, no word on development had come out by its developer Red Entertainment or publisher Sega. After so many years, it’s clear that the game will never be released.

Red Entertainment also worked on Gungrave, a third person shooter heavily influenced by anime series and published by Sega in July 2002 in Japan, September 2002 in USA and November 2002 in Europe. If it would have been released, it’s possible that Trigun: The Planet Gunsmoke’s gameplay would have been much similar to Gungrave. Gungrave even had the same character designs by Trigun’s series creator Yasuhiro Nightow.

Kyle Petty’s No Fear Racing [N64 – Tech Demo]

Kyle Petty’s No Fear Racing is a racing game developed by Leland Interactive Media and published by Williams Entertainment for the Super Nintendo in 1995. When Nintendo announced their Ultra 64, Williams created a Nintendo 64 tech demo based on Kyle Petty’s No Fear Racing, with the “same” Silicon Graphic Workstation power that the U64 would have used. In the end Williams never released any game for the Nintendo 64 and only few screens (found on Cd Consoles issue #4) remain from this interesting N64 demo.

Halloween Capsule [GEN MD – Cancelled]

Halloween Capsule is a cancelled side-scrolling brawler / beat ’em up with animals for characters, that was in development in 1994 for the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis (or Samsung Super Aladdin Boy, how the system was named in Korea) by the Korean company Softmax, best known for their War of Genesis and Magna Carta series. Halloween Capsule was one of their first projects, but it was never released for unknown reasons and only few screenshots were found in an old korean magazine.

Video Kid [Unreleased for the SNES]

Update: thanks to Tanukitsune we found out that this game was going to be a port of an Amiga/Atari ST game that was released. You can see a video from the Amiga version below!

Video Kid is a cancelled side-scrolling shoot ’em up that was in development by Kemco for the Super Nintendo / Super Famicom. The player would have take the role of a flying thing (in one screenshot it seems a robotic rat, in the other 2 it looks like.. something else) to shoot down enemies through various fantasy scenarios, like a magic forest, the wild west or a dark cemetery. Scans from EGM and Super Power magazine #12.
